Privacy policy
BeepBeep collects as little data as possible. This page explains what is stored, why and for how long.
Draft: this text hasn't had a legal review yet and will be updated before launch.
Data we don't collect
We don't collect names, phone numbers, emails, location, photos or free text. No account is required.
When you send an alert
- Alert record: plate, alert type, channel (website or app) and time — kept for 90 days.
- IP address and browser/device details (user agent) — only to prevent abuse, kept for 30 days.
- A pseudonymous sender key for limits (a one-way value derived from the IP or app identifier).
- If the plate isn't registered on BeepBeep, the alert isn't stored — only a daily count is kept (90 days).
The car owner never sees the sender's identity, IP or device.
When you use the app
- An anonymous app identifier, platform, app version, push token and the version of the documents you accepted.
- The plates you add and their pause settings.
- Alerts you receive are shown in the app for 30 days.
- Reports you file and moderation decisions are kept for 1 year.
Deleting data
- When you choose "Delete all my data" in the app, your plates and alerts are deleted immediately and alert records related to you are anonymised.
- App records unused for a long time are deleted automatically.
- Alert records are deleted after 90 days; only anonymous statistics remain.
Who can see the data
An administrator can view a sender's IP and technical details only while investigating abuse, and every view is logged. Data is never sold or used for advertising.
Service providers
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers push notifications to phones.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — the bot check on the website. Cloudflare processes browser data during the check.
